Red Hats and Purple Chaps -This chapter of the Red Hat Society is composed solely of horsewomen. We are called "Red Hats & Purple Chaps" aka Galloping Grannies. Most are women over 50, all horse lovers, who trail ride, camp, ride festivals, drill, fund raise for various children's hospitals, donate goods to multiple worthy causes, and /or ride in parades together dressed in the tradition of The Red Hat Society. We ride sidesaddle, Western, English, bareback, lead a horse, or drive a horse. All breeds are welcome. Riders and handlers have sufficient knowledge and skill to handle a horse under parade circumstances. We have several clinics to "bombproof" our horses as well as practice sessions at indoor and outdoor arenas around Indiana.
